I have worked as a pastor, chaplain, seminary professor, and a marketing and sales professional in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. I have nearly 40 years of leadership experience in various organizational environments.

I focus on understanding leadership, culture, and politics from a systems perspective and engaging in public theology in a digital environment. It is my conviction that we should not disengage from the public square but engage in meaningful and thoughtful conversations that are deliberately informed, truthful, and compassionate as we talk about the most difficult issues that we face. This engagement is of paramount importance in the age of social media and the deep divisions among us often fomented by fear and anger. Our conversations require that we display civility, empathy, and understanding as we travel together on a journey where we share a common path, but often walk on different terrain. Perhaps most important of all, is our ability to engage with each other with a sense of self-reflection that is both humorous and humble. Laughter is a gift that we should engage in with each other as often as possible.
